The Italian pet retailer, which recently opened its 500th store in Rome, forecasts a “strategic” 2023.
The retailer has acquired the shops on the southern island from Max Casa, an Italian houseware and appliances retailer with locations across the country.
The rebranding and reopening of the new stores, 8 of them located in the Sicilian capital Palermo, will take place by April 2023.
Arcaplanet CEO Nicolò Galante said this retail expansion is an “important push” towards the company’s expansion in Southern Italy. “This new operation will greatly strengthen our presence in Sicily, but what is fundamental for us is having retained the entire staff of the chain stores,” he added.
The company said this acquisition will take Arcaplanet’s total tally to 520 stores nationwide.
The year ahead
The Italian pet retailer defines 2023 as a “strategic year, full of challenges and important goals.”
“Reaching the 500th shop [milestone] represents a starting point for the new course of the Arcaplanet Group, following the recent acquisition of the Maxi Zoo chain with the subsequent integration and rebranding of 112 shops completed last December,” said Galante.
In addition to the new store acquisition, the company is refurbishing its existing shops and introducing services such as Pet Wash across 100 stores. It is also boosting its presence online with its new app that allows customers to ‘click and collect’ and overhauling its loyalty program.
The retailer aims to increase employees training on innovation, digital integration, and customer service.
