This is how the first 24/7 self-service pet store in Europe works

Czech pet chain Super zoo plans to roll out this innovative new concept and test it among its customers.

The store in Týn nad Vltavou, 150km from Prague, becomes after closure a self-service cash model like the one existing in supermarket chains and other retailers worldwide.

Super zoo told GlobalPETS that customers can choose from a range of 4,000 pet food and supplies except for live animals.

“Next to all assortment innovations, we focus on digitalization and customer service as well. We set the trend in pet supplies,” said Dušan Plaček, Owner and Founder of the Plaček Group.

Mastercard cooperated in the implementation of the project, that started to roll out last week. “We are constantly trying to advance the entire payment and shopping process so that it is as comfortable, user-friendly, fast, and above all, as safe as possible for customers,” said Michal Čarný, General Manager of Mastercard for the Czech Republic and Slovakia.

Super zoo plans to open new 24-hour self-service shops in other locations and bigger cities across the country in the near future.
