Forty years of exclusive service

ICA is a Spanish company established forty years ago, which in addition to selling over 9,200 products for all kinds of pets, is one of the largest European manufacturers of aquaria, seed mixtures and other pet items.

Currently more than thirty countries import the products manufactured by ICA, either under the company’s own brands or under private labels requested by buyers. Vit Pro seeds are sold on all continents, and Aqua Led and Nano Led aquaria are sold in many countries in Europe, Africa and Asia.

ICA has more than 25,000 sqm. of warehouse space distributed over several facilities, one of which is located on the industrial estate Monte Boyal in Toledo, only 30 kilometres from Madrid, and the other located on industrial estate El Cascajo in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria (Canary Islands). From both facilities, ICA’s nearly one hundred employees assist the customers, which stand for over 4,000 pet stores and veterinarians only inSpain and Portugal.

Variety of activities

In these large and modern industrial buildings, ICA engages in various activities: aquaria manufacturing, the production of feed and seed mixtures, and pet furniture, the distribution of myriad products for all kinds of pets, and even the sale of live fish and natural plants.

Tropical fish facilities

Live fish are sold at the ultra-modern Tropical Centre, a facility where the company tends to an average of over 250,000 fish imported from up to 12 different countries. All these fish are rigorously quarantined for at least one week prior to being shipped to the thousands of businesses in the pet sector.

Pet food manufacturing

ICA’s prestigious pet food brand Vit Pro clearly stands out from its other products and is presently sold at thousands of specialized pet stores all over the world.

With fourteen silos and modern packaging equipment, the company manufactures more than forty different formulas of mixtures for rodents and birds in different packaging and weights, using over forty different raw materials (sunflower seeds, peeled sunflower seeds, safflower, sliced carob, peanut, corn flakes, hemp seed, peas, sorghum, dehydrated banana, pumpkin seeds, chili peppers, etc.). All formulas in ICA’s mixtures have been carefully developed by veterinarians specialized in animal nutrition to ensure the optimal health of pets.

The storage and shipping plant is another spectacular facility. Filled with endless rows of shelves on which every centimetre is designated for a specific use, with forklifts moving along the aisles following the instructions of a computer programme, combining speed, reliability and effectiveness.

Aquarium manufacturing

ICA’s ultra-modern aquarium factory has a production capacity of over 100,000 units per year, many of which are intended for export. This has put the company in the number one position in the sector in Spain and among in the leaders in Europe. The company applies state-of-the-art LED technology in its aquarium lighting solution, which has revolutionized the market. Although LEDs are used in many aquaria, ICA’s patented technology achieves higher light intensity at a lower cost, increases longevity and minimizes energy consumption.

All products and activities are listed in a complete and detailed catalogue, containing over 6,000 items. The guide has simplified, expedited and facilitated the ordering process for both retailers and end consumers.
