OMNI, that recently raised £1.1 million (€1.31/$1.5M), is experiencing “strong momentum” with monthly sales up 60%.
The company, committed to providing dog owners with 100% plant-based nutritional food that is at the same time beneficial for the environment, has served over 1,000 customers since it started to sell via a soft launch in May 2021.
“We’re now seeing nearly 50% of customers sign up for monthly subscriptions and seeing very low levels of churn among these customer bases which we believe shows how much dogs are loving their OMNI meals,” said co-founder Shiv Sivakumar to GlobalPETS.
The company is currently present in the UK, but they are getting interest from Europe, US and Asia. “We are considering our expansion into these markets in the near term,” Sivakumar said.
In addition to the tailored plant-based food, OMNI is planning to launch a functional treat range in the next few months.
The vegan pet food market was valued at $9.3 Billion (€8.4B) in 2021, according to different market predictions. The forecast is that the segment will increase by 7.5% every year, reaching $15.6 billion (€14.1B) by 2028.
