What we know about Zesty Paws’ partnership with Chinese e-commerce giant JD
The American pet supplements company enters its first retail partnership in Asia.
The partnership between JD and Zesty Paws covers the distribution of pet supplements in the Chinese e-commerce platform since November 2022.
The American company also offers a full range of pet medical and health services across JD Pet Health’s vet telemedicine portal and promotes scientific pet care concepts in China.
“We believe that Zesty Paws’ choosing JD Pet Health as its first partner to enter the Chinese market reflects its high recognition of our vision and strategy in the pet care industry,” Wenbo Tong, General Manager at JD Pet Health, told GlobalPETS.
Next steps
The cooperation will shortly see the 2 companies further align in other areas. “Looking ahead, we will work together on marketing, pet health education, and providing more science-based and targeted pet care products and services for pet parents in China,” Tong added.
JD Pet Health aims to consolidate both pharmacy and medical services for pets in one platform, a “pioneering model” in the Chinese pet market according to the Beijing-based e-commerce giant.
The Delaware-based pet supplements brand, which H&H Group acquired in August 2021, has made further headway internationally after expanding into Canada earlier in 2021.
