Peter Scott to become the new APPA CEO
The American Pet Products Association (APPA) believes that Scott is the right fit to “elevate the global pet care community.”
Peter Scott has more than 20 years of experience as a leader. He has worked for more than 6 years as COO of the North American Veterinary Community (NAVC) and served as CEO of the American Academy of Optometry since 2019.
“I look forward to working alongside the APPA team, our members and other industry partners and stakeholders to continue promoting responsible pet ownership and play a small role in this amazing industry’s achievements moving forward”, he stated.
Chuck Latham, the Chairman of APPA’s Board of Directors, claimed that he is confident he is the right person to lead the entity’s growth and ongoing success.
Scott will replace Bob Merar, the president of General Pet Supply and appointed interim CEO from March. Former CEO Steve King retired in December.
