Pets at Home taps new veterinary officer
The British pet retailer believes the newly created role will be crucial in delivering the company’s pet care strategy.
Gudrun Ravetz will move from her current role as head of workplace engagement in the company’s Vets4Pets division to lead the UK retailer’s pet care strategy.
Her new duties will include chairing the Pet Welfare Committee, which comprises supervision of products and services, risk management, pet welfare communication, consumer engagement, and managing clinical and pet-related research funds.
The British pet retailer notes that the newly created role of veterinary officer is crucial in delivering the company’s pet care strategy, which puts “clinical expertise and pet welfare at the very heart of the business.”

Pets at Home recently hit a “record” quarter, increasing its revenue by 8.8% from November 2022 to January 2023. The veterinarian business drove an 18.1% increase.
