TC Transcontinental Packaging gains recognition for its environmental commitment

The Pet Sustainability Coalition (PSC) notes that the North-American company has intensified its focus on developing innovative sustainable solutions for the pet food industry.

The Montreal-based company has been recognized as an accredited business by the PSC for its environmental and social impact within the pet industry, including the intensification of developing innovative sustainable packaging solutions for the pet food industry.

Their vieVERTe products for the pet industry are preapproved for How-to-Recycle certification and can incorporate Post Consumer Recycle Content (PCR) into the package.

“As a member of the Pet Sustainability Coalition, the PSC Packaging Pledge, and a signatory of the New Plastics Economy Global Commitment, we believe that in order to have a positive impact for pets, people, and the planet we need to collaborate with brand, associations, governments, and supply chain partnerships,” stated Thomas Morin, president of TC Transcontinental Packaging.

“That is a high-level overview,” Ashley Lane, PSC’s accreditation manager, noted to GlobalPETS. The assessment looks at companies’ operations as they align with the sustainable development goals.

“We set a minimum score requirement to undergo our verification process. We have a third party verify the assessment through a documentation audit, and if after the audit, their score still meets the minimum requirement, we then allow companies to receive an accreditation with Pet Sustainability Coalition,” she added.
