UK vet platform raises £310,000 in funding round

Liverpool-based VidiVet will use the funds to boost its growth and development in the industry.

The vet tech company closed its latest seed funding round early after securing £310,000 (€350,000/$375,000) from angel and existing investors as well as vet industry venture capitalists.

Ben Sweeney, Founder and CEO at VidiVet, said: “We’ve grown rapidly over the past 12 months and have a significant number of veterinary practices and pet owners using VidiVet.”

Adding that the latest funding round, which exceeded its initial target, is “very exciting” for the company as it will allow it to scale the team to support the “high numbers” of veterinary clinics it is onboarding monthly.

Big plans
VidiVet is already exploring the possibility of hosting a Series A funding later this year. It has several significant developments in the pipeline, with plans to delve into other areas of business.

The start-up, founded in 2020, gives pet parents access to UK-registered vets around the clock through its app, which currently has over 10,000 users.

Furthermore, the app facilitates veterinary practices to increase capacity and reduce pressure on staff. According to the company, so far, it has received “excellent” feedback from vets and pet parents alike
