zooplus grows by 18% in third quarter

With this continued growth, the European online retailer pulls in €1.5 billion ($1.69b) in sales in the first nine months of 2021.

Zooplus went from €436.4 million in revenue in Q3 of 2020 to €514 million in Q3 of 2021.

Other highlights:

  • Its revenue retention rate was at 98% compared to 97% in the same period last year.
  • Also Zooplus’ own brands, which are more high-margin, have seen growth: in the first nine months of this year, the own brands represented 17.6% of sales, while they represented 15.8% in the same period in 2020.
  • Zooplus confirms that the strategic partnership with H&F and EQT will be closed shortly
  • Its gross profit margin of 30.1% is slightly lower than the margin in the first 9 months of 2020 (30.5%)
