Ethos Pet Brands is expected to leverage the portfolio of both companies.
Ethos Pet Brands has been unveiled as the parent company of Natural Balance Pet Foods and Canidae Pet Food Company.
This development follows the merger of the 2 companies in March 2023, aided by a capital contribution from L Catterton to support the business’s successful integration and long-term expansion.
‘Ethos’ comes from the name of Canidae’s manufacturing facility, established in 2012 in Brownwood, Texas. The same state-of-the-art facility will now combine the strengths of the two brands to manufacture protein-rich products for cats and dogs while simplifying pet nutrition with sustainable, premium ingredients.
This includes Natural Balance’s product line of over 100 dog and cat food treats and Canidae’s Pure, Goodness and All Life Stages products.
Products are expected to be retailed via pet specialty, independent and e-commerce channels.
“The Ethos Pet Brands leadership team was thoughtfully assembled and represents deep experience in the pet specialty space,” comments Ethos Pet Brands’ Chairman of the Board, Greg Shearson.
Shearson adds that he is confident this team will build upon this strong foundation and guide the new company to a promising future.
