New director of Pet Industry of Association of Australia wants to promote fair play in the sector
Diana Scott, founder and CEO of pet food manufacturer Frontier, wants to help providing “transparency and education” for pet owners in the country.
This role, which is performed voluntarily in addition to her current role, will allow her to have the opportunity to speak face-to-face with authorities as well as industry players and this is why this role has a “significant meaning” for her.
“This is at a far greater, macro level, than I can do as an individual,” Scott admitted in an interview with GlobalPETS.
According to Scott, consumers are “extremely confused” because of the spread of misinformation by some part of the Australian industry and she wants to achieve “a source of truth” for all pet-related matters.
This will be one of the topics that she will tackle in the following years with the aim to bring “long overdue” compliance and regulation and protect the industry by promoting responsible pet ownership.
“Serious, compliant and mature businesses in the industry all want an endorsed protocol, supported by legislation, that provides pet owners with a greater understanding of what is, and is not, acceptable in the industry.”
She also wants to protect the industry by promoting responsible pet ownership.
Diana Scott has 3 decades of professional experience within marketing and advertising. She worked for some top brands such as American Express, KPMG and 3M.
She created Frontier Pets in 2011, where she developed freeze-dried, free-range pet food in cooperation with one of Australia’s leading animal nutritionists. In 2017, she launched her direct-to-consumer brand.
The Pet Industry Association of Australia (PIAA) is based in Sydney and is the only industry association in the country representing all businesses in the pet industry.
