TNC steps into France with acquisition of fresh pet food player

The Swedish firm adds Easy-BARF’s portfolio to its premium pet food business.

The Nutriment Company (TNC) has announced the acquisition of Easy-BARF, a raw pet food producer for dogs and cats based in France’s northwestern region of Pays de la Loire.

TNC aims to expand the Easy-BARF portfolio to include its recently launched range of fresh, gently cooked products. According to the Swedish company, the new acquisition will also leverage its B2B capabilities to bring the products into the retail sector.

“This step will further strengthen the rapidly growing natural premium pet food market in France and make high-quality natural nutrition more accessible for pet owners across the country,” it says.

Easy-BARF was founded by Ariane Byhet and David Boulle in 2015 in Mayenne (280 km west of Paris). The company primarily operates in the online space, with 80% of its customers purchasing products online.

The firm claims that all vegetables used in their products are of French origin and are grown and harvested in Normandy and Brittany, close to their production plant.

8th acquisition in 2025

The foray into France marks the 8th acquisition for TNC this year.

The last acquisition was Purrform, a British raw cat food producer based in Berkshire, which was made in the summer. TNC also acquired other UK raw pet food players, including Bulmer Pet Foods and The Dog’s Butcher.

In Germany, TNC acquired BAF Petfood from Fressnapf and raw pet food producer Graf Barf.

The company also entered the Spanish market earlier in the year with the purchase of Puromenu.
